ABOUT DONNA
Speaker | Author | Wellbeing Educator
Helping people rethink wellbeing by reconnecting with the intelligence of the body.
I don’t believe wellbeing is something we have to earn.
I believe it’s something we remember.
My work is about helping people reconnect with themselves, trust the wisdom of their own body and discover that wellbeing doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.

My Story
My journey with yoga began in the late 1990s.
An ex-colleague showed me a picture of Madonna with her legs behind her head and her enthusiasm made me curious enough to give yoga a try.
Like many people, I fell in and out of love with yoga as life got in the way. Work, family and studying for my Masters often took priority.
For more than 20 years I worked in the corporate world, much of that time in IT. Looking back, I can see I became very good at meeting deadlines, looking after everyone else and ignoring what my body was trying to tell me.
In 2005, I developed Bell’s Palsy. Looking back, I believe stress played a significant role. It was a turning point that encouraged me to reconnect with yoga, not simply as a form of movement, but as a way of reconnecting with myself.
When I enrolled on my yoga teacher training with Triyoga, my plan was simple: qualify now and teach when I retired.
Life, however, had other ideas.
During an NLP coaching course, I was talking to my coach about being made redundant and feeling unsure about what to do next. She listened carefully and then said something that completely changed my perspective.
“When you talk about yoga, you light up. When you talk about your corporate career, you don’t.”
She was right.
In that moment, I realised I had already made my decision. I just hadn’t admitted it to myself.
After completing my training, I travelled to Los Angeles to complete Bikram Teacher Training. I planned to stay for 11 weeks but ended up staying for six months, teaching and travelling in Los Angeles, New York and Texas.
For the first time in a long time, I stopped trying to control everything. I learned to trust myself a little more, go with the flow and embrace where life was taking me.
In 2015, I founded Curvesome Yoga after hearing too many people tell me that yoga wasn’t for them.
I wanted to change that.
Curvesome Yoga was created to challenge those misconceptions and show that yoga really is for everyBODY.
As my work grew, so did the conversation around representation and belonging in wellbeing. In 2020, , I co-founded, the UK’s first Black wellness and fitness festival.
Today, my work has grown far beyond the yoga mat.
As a speaker, author and wellbeing educator, I work with organisations, conferences, festivals and communities, encouraging people to rethink wellbeing through what I call Body Intelligence.
I believe our body is constantly communicating with us. The challenge is that many of us have forgotten how to listen. That belief is at the heart of The Noble Method, bringing together everything I’ve learned through my own experiences, my corporate career, my work in wellbeing and the thousands of people I’ve had the privilege of teaching, supporting and learning from.
Whether I’m speaking on a stage, leading a retreat, writing a book or facilitating a workshop, my hope is always the same.
That people leave feeling a little more connected to themselves than when they arrived.
Because I believe our body is always communicating with us.
The question is…
Are we listening?
